White Composite Fillings

Dental decay is removed and replaced with white composite fillings that look similar to natural teeth.  If you know or suspect you have tooth decay, reach out to our dentist, Michael Fizer, DDS in Beckley, WV at (304) 252-7311 to schedule an appointment for the addition of a white composite filling.  The filling process begins with a numbing of the gums and teeth with a local anesthetic.  The dentist eliminates the decayed portion of the tooth.  A composite filling is carefully added for tooth restoration.  The filling is precisely molded to guarantee the optimal tooth shape.

Composite fillings are positioned within teeth in layers that compile upward until the hole left vacant from the removed decayed portion of the tooth is full.  An ultraviolet light is then used to ensure the filling cures in place.  The layers of the filling are rapidly hardened, setting the stage for each successive layer.  The new white composite filling represents a fresh slate as it prevents bacteria from moving inward to the interior of the tooth, all the way down to the nerves that connect to other parts of the body.
